18 OR i discepoli di Giovanni, e quei de’ Farisei, digiunavano. E quelli vennero a Gesù, e gli dissero: Perchè digiunano i discepoli di Giovanni, e quei de’ Farisei, e i tuoi discepoli non digiunano?

Mark 2:18

And the disciples of John and of the Pharisees used to
fast
Or "were fasting"; perhaps that very day, and so were the more displeased at this entertainment, Matthew had made for Christ and his disciples, and at their being at it; or fasting was usual with them: they fasted often, both John's disciples, and the disciples of the Pharisees, or the Pharisees themselves; so the Vulgate Latin reads: of their frequent fasting, (See Gill on Matthew 9:14),

and they came:
both the disciples of John, ( Matthew 9:14 ) , and the Scribes and Pharisees, ( Luke 5:30 Luke 5:33 ) ,

and say unto him, why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees
fast, but thy disciples fast not? (See Gill on Matthew 9:14).

16 E gli Scribi e i Farisei, vedutolo mangiar co’ pubblicani e co’ peccatori, dissero a’ suoi discepoli: Che vuol dir ch’egli mangia e beve co’ pubblicani e co’ peccatori?

17 E Gesù, udito ciò, disse loro: I sani non hanno bisogno di medico, ma i malati; io non son venuto per chiamare i giusti, anzi i peccatori, a penitenza.

18 OR i discepoli di Giovanni, e quei de’ Farisei, digiunavano. E quelli vennero a Gesù, e gli dissero: Perchè digiunano i discepoli di Giovanni, e quei de’ Farisei, e i tuoi discepoli non digiunano?

19 E Gesù disse loro: Que’ della camera delle nozze possono eglino digiunare, mentre lo sposo è con loro? quanto tempo hanno seco lo sposo non possono digiunare.

20 Ma verranno i giorni, che lo sposo sarà loro tolto, ed allora in que’ giorni digiuneranno.
