14 e trovarono scritto nella Legge, che il Signore avea comandato per Mosè, che i figliuoli d’Israele dimorassero in tabernacoli nella festa solenne, al settimo mese; e che questo si dovea bandire.

Nehemiah 8:14

And they found written in the law which the Lord had commanded
by Moses
The children of Israel, to be observed by them; either by hearing it read the day before, or by conversation with Ezra, they perceived it was enjoined in the law, particularly in ( Leviticus 23:39-43 ) ( Deuteronomy 16:13 )

that the children of Israel should dwell in booths, in the feast of the
seventh month:
which was the same month, and this the second day of it, and therefore the time drew near for keeping it; for it was to begin the fifteenth.

12 E tutto il popolo se ne andò per mangiare, e per bere, e per mandar messi di vivande, e per far gran festa; perciocchè aveano intese le parole ch’erano loro state dichiarate.

13 E nel secondo giorno del mese, i capi delle famiglie paterne di tutto il popolo, ed i sacerdoti, ed i Leviti, si adunarono appresso d’Esdra, scriba, per essere ammaestrati nelle parole della Legge;

14 e trovarono scritto nella Legge, che il Signore avea comandato per Mosè, che i figliuoli d’Israele dimorassero in tabernacoli nella festa solenne, al settimo mese; e che questo si dovea bandire.

15 Fecero adunque andare un bando per tutte le città loro, e in Gerusalemme; dicendo: Uscite fuori al monte, e portatene rami di ulivo, e d’altri alberi oliosi, e di mirto, e di palma, e d’altri alberi folti, per far tabernacoli, come è scritto.

16 Il popolo adunque uscì fuori, e portò de’ rami, e si fecero de’ tabernacoli, ciascuno sopra il suo tetto, e ne’ lor cortili, e ne’ cortili della Casa di Dio, e nella piazza della porta delle acque, e nella piazza della porta di Efraim.
