Psalms 40:13

Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me
From the innumerable evils which compassed him about; from sinful men, and from devils, signified by the sword, dog, and lion, ( Psalms 22:20 Psalms 22:21 ) ; and from the power and dominion of death and the grave; all which was done when he was raised from the dead, and as the fruit and effect of God's well pleasedness in him, and with what he did and suffered; see ( Psalms 22:8 ) ( 18:19 ) ;

11 Tu, Signore, non rattenere inverso me le tue compassioni; Guardinmi del continuo la tua benignità e la tua verità.
12 Perciocchè mali innumerabili mi hanno circondato; Le mie iniquità mi hanno giunto, E pur non le posso vedere; Sono in maggior numero che i capelli del mio capo, Onde il cuor mi vien meno.
13 Piacciati, Signore, liberarmi; Signore, affrettati in mio aiuto.
14 Quelli che cercano l’anima mia, per farla perire, Sieno confusi, e svergognati tutti quanti; Quelli che prendono piacere nel mio male, Voltino le spalle, e sieno svergognati.
15 Quelli che mi dicono: Eia, eia! Sieno distrutti, per ricompensa del vituperio che mi fanno.
