Esther 9:32 Meaning and Commentary

Esther 9:32

And the decree of Esther confirmed these matters of Purim,
&c.] As a festival to be observed by the Jews in future generations:

and it was written in the book;
either in this book of Esther; or in the public acts and chronicles of the kings of Persia; or in a book by itself, now lost, as Aben Ezra thinks, as many others are we read of in Scripture, as the books of the chronicles of the kings of Israel and Judah

Esther 9:32 In-Context

30 The letter was addressed to all the Jews, and copies were sent to all the 127 provinces of the Persian Empire. It wished the Jews peace and security
31 and directed them and their descendants to observe the days of Purim at the proper time, just as they had adopted rules for the observance of fasts and times of mourning. This was commanded by both Mordecai and Queen Esther.
32 Esther's command, confirming the rules for Purim, was written down on a scroll.
