because he had often been bound with shackles and chains, and the chains had been tornapart by him and the shacklesbroken in pieces, and noone was strongenough to subdue him.

and shouting with a loudvoice, he said, "What business do we have with each other, Jesus, Son of the MostHighGod? I implore You by God, do not torment me!"

Jesus gave them permission. And coming out, the uncleanspiritsentered the swine; and the herdrusheddown the steepbank into the sea, abouttwothousand of them; and they were drowned in the sea.

They came to Jesus and observed the man who had been demon-possessedsittingdown, clothed and in his rightmind, the very man who had had the "legion "; and they became frightened.

And He did not let him, but He said to him, "Gohome to your people and report to them whatgreatthings the Lord has done for you, and how He hadmercy on you."

and implored Him earnestly, saying, "My littledaughter is at the point of death; please come and lay Your hands on her, so that she will getwell and live."

ImmediatelyJesus, perceiving in Himself that the power proceeding from Him had goneforth, turnedaround in the crowd and said, "Whotouched My garments?"

They began laughing at Him. But putting them all out, He tookalong the child'sfather and mother and His own companions*, and entered the room where the child was.
