15 Y ellos fueron, y los siguieron hasta el Jordán; y he aquí, todo el camino estaba lleno de vestidos y de vasos que los sirios habían arrojado con la premura. Y volvieron los mensajeros, y lo hicieron saber al rey

16 Entonces el pueblo salió, y saquearon el campamento, de los sirios. Y fue vendido un seah de flor de harina por un siclo, y dos seah de cebada por un siclo, conforme a la palabra del SEÑOR

17 Y el rey puso a la puerta a aquel príncipe sobre cuya mano él se apoyaba; y le atropelló el pueblo a la entrada, y murió, conforme a lo que había dicho el varón de Dios, lo que habló cuando el rey descendió a él

18 Aconteció, pues, de la manera que el varón de Dios había hablado al rey, diciendo: Dos seah de cebada por un siclo, y el seah de flor de harina será vendido por un siclo mañana a estas horas, a la puerta de Samaria

19 A lo cual aquel príncipe había respondido al varón de Dios, diciendo: Aunque el SEÑOR hiciera ventanas en el cielo, ¿pudiera ser eso? Y él dijo: He aquí tú lo verás con tus ojos, mas no comerás de ello

20 Y le sucedió así; porque el pueblo le atropelló a la entrada, y murió

INTRODUCTION TO 2 KINGS 7

This chapter begins with a prophecy of great plenty in Samaria on the morrow, and of the death of an unbelieving lord, 2Ki 7:1,2, relates the case of four lepers, who that night went into the Syrian camp, which was deserted, occasioned by the noise of chariots, horses, and a host, which they fancied they heard, 2Ki 7:3-9, the report which the lepers made to the king's household of this affair, and the method the king's servants took to know the truth of it, 2Ki 7:10-15 which, when confirmed, the people went out and spoiled the tents of the Syrians, whereby the prophecy of plenty was fulfilled, 2Ki 7:16, and the unbelieving lord having post at the gate of the city assigned him, was trod to death, and so the prediction concerning him had its accomplishment also, 2Ki 7:17-20.
