9 Y fui engrandecido, y aumentado más que todos los que fueron antes de mí en Jerusalén; a más de esto perseveró conmigo mi sabiduría

Ecclesiastes 2:9

So I was great
Became famous for the great works wrought by him before mentioned; and increased more than all that were before me in Jerusalem;
the Targum adds, "in riches"; but it seems rather to respect his fame and glory among men; though in general it may include his increase of wealth, power, and honour, and everything that contributed to his external happiness; also my wisdom remained with me;
the Targum adds, "and it helped me"; which he exercised and showed in the government of his kingdom, in the conduct of his family, in his personal deportment and behaviour; amidst all his pleasures, he did not neglect the study of natural knowledge, nor give himself up to sordid and sinful lusts; and so was a better judge of pleasure, whether true happiness consisted in it or not.

7 Poseí siervos y siervas, y tuve hijos de familia; también tuve posesión grande de vacas y ovejas, sobre todos los que fueron antes de mí en Jerusalén

8 Amontoné también plata y oro, y tesoro preciado de reyes y de provincias; me hice de cantores y cantoras, y todos los deleites de los hijos de los hombres, instrumentos músicos y de todas suertes

9 Y fui engrandecido, y aumentado más que todos los que fueron antes de mí en Jerusalén; a más de esto perseveró conmigo mi sabiduría

10 No negué a mis ojos ninguna cosa que desearan, ni aparté mi corazón de placer alguno, porque mi corazón gozó de todo mi trabajo; y esta fue mi parte de toda mi faena

11 Al fin miré yo todas las obras que habían hecho mis manos, y el trabajo que tomé para hacerlas; y he aquí, todo vanidad y aflicción de espíritu, y sin provecho debajo del sol
