Joshua 16:7

And it went down from Johanan to Ataroth
This is different from Ataroth before mentioned, ( Joshua 16:2 ) ; there were several places of this name, as before observed; this seems to be that which Jerom places four miles from Sebaste or Samaria, (See Gill on Joshua 16:2);

and to Naarath;
Jerom ^F7 says, that Naarath was in his time called Naorath, a village of the Jews, five miles from Jericho; and is the village Josephus ^F8 calls Neara, where was a water, half of which Archelaus turned, and led to the field planted with palm trees, near Jericho; and, according to the Jewish writers ^F9: there was a place called Noaran near to Jericho, which seems to be this:

and came to Jericho, and went out at Jordan;
where it ended this way, which was eastward.

5 Y fue el término de los hijos de Efraín por sus familias, fue el término de su herencia a la parte oriental, desde Atarot-adar hasta Bet-horón la de arriba

6 y sale este término al mar, y a Micmetat al norte, y da vuelta este término hacia el oriente a Taanat-silo, y de aquí pasa al oriente a Janoa

7 y de Janoa desciende a Atarot, y a Naarat, y toca en Jericó, y sale al Jordán

8 Y de Tapúa torna este término hacia el mar occidental al arroyo de Caná, y sale al mar. Esta es la heredad de la tribu de los hijos de Efraín por sus familias

9 Hubo también ciudades que se apartaron para los hijos de Efraín en medio de la herencia de los hijos de Manasés, todas las ciudades con sus aldeas
