And,behold , there was a mannamed*Zacchaeus,which*was the chief among the publicans,andhewasrich.

And he sought to seeJesuswho he was ; andcouldnotfor the press,because he waslittle of stature.

And he ranbefore, and climbed upinto a sycomore treetoseehim:for he was to pass*that way.

AndwhenJesuscameto the place, he looked up , and sawhim,andsaiduntohim,Zacchaeus, make haste , and come down ; for to dayImustabideatthyhouse.

And he made haste , and came down , andreceivedhimjoyfully .

And when they saw it, theyallmurmured , saying , That he was gone to be guestwith a man that is a sinner.

AndZacchaeusstood , and saidunto the Lord;Behold , Lord, the half of mygoods I give to the poor;andif I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation , I restore him fourfold.

AndJesussaiduntohim*, This dayissalvationcome to thishouse, forsomuch ashealsois a son of Abraham.

For the Son of man is come to seekand to save that which was lost .

And as theyheard these things, he added and spake a parable,becausehewasnigh to Jerusalem,and because theythoughtthat the kingdom of Godshouldimmediatelyappear .

He saidtherefore,A certainnobleman*wentinto a farcountry to receive for himself a kingdom,and to return .

And he calledhistenservants, and deliveredthemtenpounds,andsaiduntothem,Occupytill I come .

Buthiscitizenshatedhim,andsent a messageafterhim,saying , We willnothavethis man to reignoverus.

And it came to pass , that whenhe was returned , having received the kingdom,then he commandedtheseservants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money,that he might know how much every man had gained by trading .

Thencame the first,saying , Lord,thypound hath gainedtenpounds.
17
And he said unto him,Well, thou goodservant:because thou hast beenfaithfulin a very little,have thou authority*overtencities.

And the secondcame , saying , Lord,thypound hath gainedfivepounds.

And he saidlikewise to him,Bethoualsooverfivecities.

Andanothercame , saying , Lord,behold , here is thypound,which I have kept laid upin a napkin:

For I fearedthee,because thou art an austereman: thou takest upthat thou layedstnotdown , andreapestthat thou didstnotsow .

And he saith unto him, Out of thine ownmouth will I judgethee, thou wickedservant. Thou knewestthatIwas an austereman, taking upthat I laidnotdown , andreapingthat I didnotsow :

Whereforethengavestnotthoumymoneyinto the bank,that at my comingImight have required mine ownwithusury?

And he said unto them that stood by , Takefromhim the pound,andgive it to him that hathtenpounds.
25
(And they said unto him,Lord, he hathten pounds.)

For I say unto you,That unto every onewhichhath shall be given ; andfrom him that hathnot,eventhat he hath shall be taken awayfromhim.
27
Butthosemineenemies,whichwouldnot that I should reignoverthem,bringhither,andslay them beforeme.
28
And when he had thusspoken , he wentbefore, ascending uptoJerusalem.

And it came to pass , when he was come nightoBethphageandBethany,at the mountcalled the mount of Olives, he senttwo of hisdisciples,
30
Saying , Go yeinto the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colttied , whereonyetnevermansat* : loosehim, and bring him hither.
31
Andif any manaskyou,Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him,Because the Lordhathneed of him.
32
And they that were sent went their way , and found even as he had said unto them.

And as they were loosing the colt, the ownersthereofsaiduntothem,Why loose ye the colt?

And they broughthimtoJesus:and they casttheirgarmentsupon* the colt,and they setJesusthereon .
36
And as hewent , they spreadtheirclothesin the way.

And when he was come nigh , evennowat the descent of the mount of Olives, the wholemultitude of the disciplesbegan to rejoice and praiseGod with a loudvoiceforall the mighty worksthat they had seen ;

Saying , Blessed be the King that comethin the name of the Lord:peaceinheaven,andgloryin the highest.

Andsome of the Phariseesfrom among the multitudesaiduntohim,Master,rebukethydisciples.
40
And he answered and said unto them,I tellyouthat,ifthese should hold their peace , the stones would immediately cry out .
41
Andwhen he was come near , he beheld the city, and weptoverit,
42
Saying , Ifthou hadst known , eventhou, at leastinthisthyday, the things which belong untothypeace!butnow they are hidfromthineeyes.
43
For the days shall comeuponthee,thatthineenemies shall cast a trenchaboutthee,andcompasstheeround , andkeeptheein on every side,
44
And shall laythee even with the ground , andthychildrenwithinthee;and they shallnotleaveinthee one stoneuponanother;becausethouknewestnot the time of thyvisitation.

And he wentinto the temple, and began to cast out them that soldtherein*, and them that bought ;
46
Saying unto them, It is written , Myhouseis the house of prayer:butye have madeit a den of thieves.
47
And he taught*daily*in the temple.But the chief priestsand the scribesand the chief of the peoplesought to destroyhim,
48
Andcouldnotfindwhat they might do : forall the people were very attentive to hearhim.
