And when we had sailed slowly*manydays,andscarce were come over againstCnidus, the windnotsufferingus, we sailed underCrete, over againstSalmone;

And,hardlypassingit,cameuntoaplace which is called The fairhavens* ; nighwhereuntowas the city of Lasea.

Now when muchtime was spent , and when sailingwasnowdangerous,because the fastwasnowalreadypast , Pauladmonished them,

And said unto them,Sirs, I perceivethat this voyage will be*withhurtandmuchdamage,notonly of the ladingandship,butalso of ourlives.

Nevertheless the centurionbelieved the masterand the owner of the ship,morethan those things which were spokenbyPaul.

Andbecause the havenwas not commodiousto winter in, the more partadvised* to depart thence also,if by any means they mightattaintoPhenice, and there to winter ; which is an haven of Crete, and liethtoward the south westandnorthwest.

And when the south wind blew softly , supposing that they had obtained their purpose,loosing thence, they sailed close byCrete.
