20 Je te rendrai pour ce peuple comme une forte muraille d'airain; Ils te feront la guerre, mais ils ne te vaincront pas; Car je serai avec toi pour te sauver et te délivrer, Dit l'Eternel.

Jeremiah 15:20

And I will make thee unto this people a fenced brasen wall,
&c.] As he had promised him, when he first called him to his office, ( Jeremiah 1:18 ) , and so would not be as a liar to him: and they shall fight against thee;
by words and blows, by menaces and imprisonment: but they shall not prevail against thee;
so as to cause him to call in his words, and contradict his prophecies; or so as to take away his life: for I am with thee, to save thee, and deliver thee, saith the Lord;
the presence of God with his ministers is sufficient to save and deliver them out of all their troubles, and to protect and defend them against all their enemies; see ( Matthew 28:20 ) .

18 Pourquoi ma souffrance est-elle continuelle? Pourquoi ma plaie est-elle douloureuse, et ne veut-elle pas se guérir? Serais-tu pour moi comme une source trompeuse, Comme une eau dont on n'est pas sûr?

19 C'est pourquoi ainsi parle l'Eternel: Si tu te rattaches à moi, je te répondrai, et tu te tiendras devant moi; Si tu sépares ce qui est précieux de ce qui est vil, tu seras comme ma bouche. C'est à eux de revenir à toi, Mais ce n'est pas à toi de retourner vers eux.
