The Christmas story serves as a great example of God's majesty and wonder. But it also serves as a reminder that God's ways are not our ways. For example: the announcement of Christ's birth. Instead of announcing it to the kings and magistrates, God chose to announce it to a small band of shepherds, the outcasts of society, thus laying the foundation of the humility that would mark the life of Jesus Christ. You're listening to Hope from the Word, from Calvary Chapel of Marlton. We'll be in Luke chapter two today as we continue our detailed study of the Christmas story. Here's Pastor Bill…

When God announced His plan to shepherds.

Today, Pastor Jack shares with us that we need to recognize that we belong to God. When He looks at a Christian, He sees His Son Jesus, not our sin, not our messed up lives, only Jesus.

When the angel came to the shepherds in Luke 2, the angel said, “Behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which shall be for all the people, for today in the city of David a Savior has been born for you who is Christ the Lord.” Discover the three reasons why the announcement of a Savior is good news of a great joy, in this hope-filled message from Pastor Jeff Schreve.

Stuart Briscoe We all know that Jesus was cradled in a manger. A very humble start! The shepherds who first shared the gospel "lived in fields." Respectable people counted them untrustworthy. As Mary said, the Lord lifts up the humble. Still!

Calvary Chapel of Marlton presents Hope from the Word, a daily time of Bible study and application taught by our senior pastor, Bill Luebkemann. In just a couple of days Christmas will be here, but the celebration of Christ occurs every day on Hope from the Word. Today we're in the Gospel of Luke, where the birth of our Lord is so faithfully recorded for us. It's a timeless message that's worth more than a one-day-a-year glance, wouldn't you agree? With a more in-depth look at the Christmas story, here's Pastor Bill.
