Mark 8:19

When I brake the five loaves among five thousand
This, with what follows, chiefly regards the last question:

how many baskets full of fragments took ye up?
do not you remember? have you forgot what was so lately done? surely you cannot:

they say unto him, twelve.
Their memories were hereby refreshed, and they call to mind the exact number of the baskets of fragments that were taken up, which were above double the number of the loaves, the multitude were fed with.

17 Und Jesus merkte das und sprach zu ihnen: Was bekümmert ihr euch doch, daß ihr nicht Brot habt? Vernehmet ihr noch nichts und seid noch nicht verständig? Habt ihr noch ein erstarrtes Herz in euch?

18 Ihr habt Augen, und sehet nicht, und habt Ohren, und höret nicht, und denket nicht daran,

19 da ich fünf Brote brach unter fünftausend: wie viel Körbe voll Brocken hobt ihr da auf? Sie sprachen: Zwölf.

20 Da ich aber sieben brach unter die viertausend, wieviel Körbe voll Brocken hobt ihr da auf? Sie sprachen: Sieben.

21 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Wie vernehmet ihr denn nichts?
