241Jesus got up and wentaway from there to the region of 2Tyre . And when He had entered a house, He wantednoone to know of it; yet He could not escapenotice.

But after hearing of Him, a womanwhoselittledaughterhad an uncleanspiritimmediatelycame and fell at His feet.

Now the woman was a Gentile, of the Syrophoenicianrace. And she kept asking Him to cast the demon out of her daughter.
27
And He was saying to her, "Let the children be satisfiedfirst, for it is not good to take the children'sbread and throw it to the dogs."
28
But she answered and said to Him, "Yes, Lord, but even the dogsunder the tablefeed on the children'scrumbs."
29
And He said to her, "Because of thisanswergo; the demon has gone out of your daughter."

And goingback to her home, she found the childlying on the bed, the demon having left.

3Again He went out from the region of 4Tyre, and camethroughSidon to 5the Sea of Galilee, within* the region of 6Decapolis.

They brought to Him onewho was deaf and spoke with difficulty, and they implored Him to 7lay His hand on him.

8Jesus took him aside from the crowd, by himself, and put His fingers into his ears, and after 9spitting, He touched his tongue with the saliva;

and looking up to heaven with a deep10sigh, He said to him, "Ephphatha!" that is, "Be opened!"

And his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was removed, and he began speakingplainly.

And 11He gave them orders not to tellanyone; but the more He ordered them, the morewidely they 12continued to proclaim it.
37
They were utterlyastonished, saying, "He has doneallthingswell; He makeseven the deaf to hear and the mute to speak."
