Psalms 67:5

5 God, may the nations praise you. May all of the people on earth praise you.

Psalms 67:5 Meaning and Commentary

Psalms 67:5

Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise
thee.] (See Gill on Psalms 67:3). This is repeated from that preceding verse to show the earnest desire of the church that it might be so; or that there might be an occasion for it; the ardour of her mind, and fervency of her petitions, and how much she was solicitous for the praise and glory of God; or to declare the certainty of it, she most strongly believing that so it would be; as the Targum, "the people shall confess" because of a new favour to be enjoyed, mentioned in ( Psalms 67:6 ) .

Psalms 67:5 In-Context

3 God, may the nations praise you. May all of the people on earth praise you.
4 May the nations be glad and sing with joy. You rule the people of the earth fairly. You guide the nations of the earth. "Selah"
5 God, may the nations praise you. May all of the people on earth praise you.
6 Then the land will produce its crops. God, our God, will bless us.
7 God will bless us. People from one end of the earth to the other will have respect for him.
