15 Luego el Señor
sacudirá a Israel como la corriente agita los juncos. Él desarraigará a los israelitas de esta buena tierra que les dio a sus antepasados y los esparcirá más allá del río Éufrates,
porque ellos han enfurecido al Señor
con los postes que levantaron para rendir culto a la diosa Asera.

1 Kings 14:15

And the Lord shall smite Israel as a reed is shaken in the
water
Either by the wind or by the stream; and may signify the fluctuating and uncertain condition Israel should be in future reigns, through civil wars, and the translation of the kingdom into different families; so that there was continually disquietude and uneasiness, and no settled peace and tranquillity:

and he shall root up Israel out this good land he gave to their
fathers;
which was brought about, first by Tiglathpileser, and then by Shalmaneser, kings of Assyria, that carried them captives from hence:

and shall scatter them beyond the river;
the river Euphrates, as the Targum: or, as others, the river Gozan, ( 2 Kings 17:6 )

because they have made their groves, provoking the Lord to anger:
in which groves they placed idols, and worshipped them, which was highly provoking to the Lord, and the cause of their dispersion.

13 Todo Israel llorará su muerte y lo enterrará. Él será el único miembro de tu familia que tendrá un entierro apropiado, porque este niño es lo único bueno que ve el Señor
, Dios de Israel, en toda la familia de Jeroboam.

14 »Además, el Señor
levantará un rey sobre Israel que destruirá a la familia de Jeroboam. Esto sucederá hoy, ¡ahora mismo!

15 Luego el Señor

porque ellos han enfurecido al Señor
con los postes que levantaron para rendir culto a la diosa Asera.

16 Él abandonará a Israel, debido a que Jeroboam pecó e hizo que Israel pecara con él».

17 Entonces la esposa de Jeroboam regresó a Tirsa, y el niño murió en el momento que ella atravesaba la puerta de su casa.
