22 Entonces la otra mujer interrumpió:
—Claro que era tu hijo, y el niño que está vivo es el mío.
—¡No! —dijo la mujer que habló primero—, el niño que está vivo es el mío y el que está muerto es el tuyo.
Así discutían sin parar delante del rey.

1 Kings 3:22

And the other woman said
The defendant: nay, but the living [is] my son, and the dead [is] thy son;
she denied what the other said, but offered nothing in proof of it: and this said;
she who was the plaintiff replied in the same language: no: but the dead [is] thy son, and the living [is] my son;
without being able to add anything in confirmation of what she had deposed: thus they spake before the king;
several times, over and over again, what is before expressed, having nothing to produce on either side in proof of their assertions; so that it was very difficult to determine to whom the living child belonged.

20 Luego ella se levantó a la medianoche y sacó a mi hijo de mi lado mientras yo dormía; puso a su hijo muerto en mis brazos y se llevó al mío a dormir con ella.

21 A la mañana siguiente, cuando quise amamantar a mi hijo, ¡el bebé estaba muerto! Pero cuando lo observé más de cerca, a la luz del día, me di cuenta de que no era mi hijo».

22 Entonces la otra mujer interrumpió:
—Claro que era tu hijo, y el niño que está vivo es el mío.
—¡No! —dijo la mujer que habló primero—, el niño que está vivo es el mío y el que está muerto es el tuyo.
Así discutían sin parar delante del rey.

23 Entonces el rey dijo: «Aclaremos los hechos. Las dos afirman que el niño que está vivo es suyo, y cada una dice que el que está muerto pertenece a la otra.

24 Muy bien, tráiganme una espada». Así que le trajeron una espada.
