1 Samuel 30:14

We made an invasion [upon] the south of the Cherethites
The Philistines so called, or at least one nation of them, such that dwelt to the south of the land, ( 1 Samuel 30:16 ) ; (See Gill on Zephaniah 2:5);

and upon [the coast] which [belongeth] to Judah;
the south of Judah, where David pretended he had been, and had spoiled, and which was now actually done by the Amalekites, ( 1 Samuel 27:10 ) ;

and upon the south of Caleb;
that part of the tribe of Judah which belonged to Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and his posterity, and which was the southern part of it, ( Joshua 15:19 ) ;

and we burnt Ziklag with fire;
and then departed.

12 También le dieron parte de un pastel de higos y dos racimos de pasas, porque no había comido ni bebido nada durante tres días y tres noches. Al poco tiempo recobró sus fuerzas.

13 —¿A quién le perteneces y de dónde vienes? —le preguntó David.
—Soy egipcio, esclavo de un amalecita —respondió—. Mi amo me abandonó hace tres días porque yo estaba enfermo.

15 —¿Me guiarás a esa banda de saqueadores? —preguntó David.
El joven contestó:
—Si haces un juramento en el nombre de Dios que no me matarás ni me devolverás a mi amo, entonces te guiaré a ellos.

16 Así que guió a David hasta los amalecitas, y los encontraron dispersos por los campos comiendo, bebiendo y bailando con alegría por el enorme botín que habían tomado de los filisteos y de la tierra de Judá.
