Deuteronomy 4:17

The likeness of any beast that is on the earth
As there are scarce any but the likeness of them has been made and worshipped, or the creatures themselves, as the ox by the Egyptians, the sheep by the Thebans, the goat by the Mendesians, and others by different people:

the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air;
as the hawk, and the bird called Ibis, and another by the name of Cneph by the Egyptians, and the eagle by others.

»¡Pero tengan mucho cuidado! Ustedes no vieron una figura del Señor
el día que les habló desde en medio del fuego, en el monte Sinaí.

16 Así que no se corrompan haciendo ídolos de ninguna clase, sea con figura de hombre o de mujer,

17 de animales de la tierra o de aves del cielo,

18 de animales pequeños que corren por el suelo o de peces de las profundidades del mar.

19 Además, cuando miren hacia los cielos y vean el sol, la luna y las estrellas —todas las fuerzas del cielo—, no caigan en la tentación de rendirles culto. El Señor
su Dios se los dio a todos los pueblos de la tierra.
