And a maid saw him again
Either the same maid, so the Syriac and Persic versions read, "that maid": that selfsame maid, as before, or another, as in ( Matthew 26:71 ) , and so the Arabic version reads it here; but the Ethiopic as before "a daughter"; that is, of the high priest:

and began to say to them that stood by;
the fire, along with Peter, warming themselves:

this is one of them;
this man is one of the disciples and followers of Jesus of Nazareth; he is of that sect, he certainly belongs to them, and is come here only as a spy.

67 y vio que Pedro se calentaba junto a la fogata. Se quedó mirándolo y dijo:
—Tú eres uno de los que estaban con Jesús de Nazaret.

68 Pero Pedro lo negó y dijo:
—No sé de qué hablas.
Y salió afuera, a la entrada. En ese instante, cantó un gallo.

70 Pero Pedro lo negó otra vez.
Un poco más tarde, algunos de los otros que estaban allí confrontaron a Pedro y dijeron:
—Seguro que tú eres uno de ellos, porque eres galileo.

71 Pedro juró:
—¡Que me caiga una maldición si les miento! ¡No conozco a ese hombre del que hablan!
