Mark 7:1

Then came together unto him the Pharisees
Having heard of his miracles, and that he was come into the land of Gennesaret; they consulted with one another, and came together to Jesus, to watch and observe what was said and done by him, and take what advantage they could against him. These were not of that country, but were of Jerusalem, as were their companions the Scribes:

and certain of the Scribes, which were of Jerusalem;
for the fame of Christ had reached the metropolis of the nation; and these men being the more artful and cunning of the whole sect, either came of themselves, or were sent by the sanhedrim, to make their observations upon his doctrine and conduct; (See Gill on Matthew 15:1).

Cierto día, algunos fariseos y maestros de la ley religiosa llegaron desde Jerusalén para ver a Jesús.

2 Notaron que algunos de sus discípulos no seguían el ritual judío de lavarse las manos antes de comer.

3 (Los judíos, sobre todo los fariseos, no comen si antes no han derramado agua sobre el hueco de sus manos,
como exigen sus tradiciones antiguas.

4 Tampoco comen nada del mercado sin antes sumergir sus manos
en agua. Esa es solo una de las tantas tradiciones a las que se han aferrado, tal como el lavado ceremonial de vasos, jarras y vasijas de metal).

5 Entonces los fariseos y maestros de la ley religiosa le preguntaron:
—¿Por qué tus discípulos no siguen nuestra antigua tradición? Ellos comen sin antes realizar la ceremonia de lavarse las manos.
