24 »Entraron y tomaron posesión de la tierra. Tú sometiste naciones enteras delante de ellos. ¡Hasta los cananeos, que habitaban esa tierra, se sintieron impotentes! Tu pueblo pudo hacer lo que quiso con esas naciones y con sus reyes.

Nehemiah 9:24

So the children went in and possessed the land
Not the fathers of the Israelites that came out of Egypt, they died in the wilderness, all excepting two, but their children, which seems to be the reason of this manner of expression, see ( Numbers 14:30-33 )

and thou subduedst before them the inhabitants of the land, the
Canaanites;
by means of Joshua, the general of the armies of Israel; there is an elegant paronomania in the word for "subdue", and the Canaanites, which cannot be expressed in our language:

and gavest them into their hands, with their kings, and the people of
the land, that they might do with them as they would;
no less than thirty one kings, see ( Joshua 12:9-24 ) .

22 »Luego ayudaste a nuestros antepasados a conquistar reinos y naciones, y colocaste a tu pueblo en todos los rincones de la tierra.
Se apoderaron de la tierra del rey Sehón de Hesbón, y de la tierra del rey Og de Basán.

23 Hiciste que sus descendientes fueran tan numerosos como las estrellas del cielo y los llevaste a la tierra que habías prometido a sus antepasados.

25 Nuestros antepasados conquistaron ciudades fortificadas y tierras fértiles. Se apoderaron de casas llenas de cosas buenas, con cisternas ya cavadas y viñedos y olivares, además de frutales en abundancia. De modo que comieron hasta saciarse y engordaron y disfrutaron de todas tus bendiciones.

26 »Sin embargo, a pesar de todo esto, fueron desobedientes y se rebelaron contra ti. Dieron la espalda a tu ley, mataron a tus profetas, quienes les advertían que volvieran a ti, y cometieron terribles blasfemias.
