1 Ahora bien, además de casarse con la hija del faraón, el rey Salomón tuvo amoríos con muchas mujeres moabitas amonitas, edomitas, sidonias e hititas, todas ellas mujeres extranjeras

1 Kings 11:1

But King Solomon loved many strange women
His love was a lustful and not a lawful one, and of women who were not only of foreign countries, but not his lawful wives, and these many:

together with the daughter of Pharaoh;
besides her, or as he loved her, and perhaps more; his sin was not that he loved her who was his lawful wife, but others with her; it is very probable she was a proselytess, and had no hand in turning him to idolatry, since we read not of any high place built for an Egyptian idol:

women of the Moabites, Anmonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites;
all of the neighbouring nations. Some think he did this with political views, to get intelligence of the state of those countries, or to abate and extinguish their enmity; but it rather seems to be the fruit of lust or pride.

1 Ahora bien, además de casarse con la hija del faraón, el rey Salomón tuvo amoríos con muchas mujeres moabitas amonitas, edomitas, sidonias e hititas, todas ellas mujeres extranjeras

2 que procedían de naciones de las cuales el SEÑOR había dicho a los israelitas: «No se unan a ellas, ni ellas a ustedes, porque de seguro les desviarán el corazón para que sigan a otros dioses». Con tales mujeres se unió Salomón y tuvo amoríos.

3 Tuvo setecientas esposas que eran princesas, y trescientas concubinas; todas estas mujeres hicieron que se pervirtiera su corazón.

4 En efecto, cuando Salomón llegó a viejo, sus mujeres le pervirtieron el corazón de modo que él siguió a otros dioses, y no siempre fue fiel al SEÑOR su Dios como lo había sido su padre David.

5 Por el contrario, Salomón siguió a Astarté, diosa de los sidonios, y a Moloc, el detestable dios de los amonitas.
