Ocozías, rey de Judá

1 A la muerte de Jorán, los habitantes de Jerusalén proclamaron rey a Ocozías, su hijo menor, pues a sus hijos mayores los habían asesinado las bandas de árabes que habían venido al campamento. Así fue como Ocozías hijo de Jorán ascendió al trono de Judá.

2 Chronicles 22:1

And the inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ahaziah his youngest
son king in his stead
He being the only surviving one of the sons of Jehoram, the same with Jehoahaz, ( 2 Chronicles 21:17 ) who was saved when the rest were taken captive and slain, by his mother Athaliah, and he made his escape, and that she also escaped is clear from ( 2 Chronicles 22:10 )

for the band of men that came with the Arabians to the camp;
that is, of the Philistines, ( 2 Chronicles 21:16 ) , which band seems to be a band or company of thieves and robbers, as the Septuagint, cruel and barbarous, as the action ascribed to them shows:

[for they] had slain all the eldest;
sons of Jehoram; the Philistines and Arabians only carried them away captives, but those slew them in cold blood:

so Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah reigned;
being declared his successor by the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

1 A la muerte de Jorán, los habitantes de Jerusalén proclamaron rey a Ocozías, su hijo menor, pues a sus hijos mayores los habían asesinado las bandas de árabes que habían venido al campamento. Así fue como Ocozías hijo de Jorán ascendió al trono de Judá.

2 Tenía cuarenta y dos años cuando ascendió al trono, y reinó en Jerusalén un año. Su madre era Atalía, nieta de Omrí.

3 También Ocozías siguió el mal ejemplo de la familia de Acab, pues su madre le aconsejaba que hiciera lo malo.

4 Hizo lo que ofende al SEÑOR, como lo había hecho la familia de Acab. En efecto, una vez muerto su padre, Ocozías tuvo como consejeros a miembros de esa familia, para su perdición.

5 Por consejo de ellos, Ocozías se juntó con Jorán hijo de Acab, rey de Israel, y marchó hacia Ramot de Galaad para hacerle la guerra a Jazael, rey de Siria, pero en la batalla los sirios hirieron a Jorán.
