Isaiah 36:14

Thus saith the king
The king of Assyria, whom he personated, whose general and ambassador he was; so he spake to command the greater awe of the people, and the more to terrify them: let not Hezekiah deceive you;
with fair words, promising protection and safety, making preparations for the defence of the city, and to oblige the besiegers to break up the siege of it: for he shall not be able to deliver you;
but if he was not, his God, whom he served, and in whom he trusted, was able to deliver them, and did deliver them; though he endeavoured to dissuade them from trusting in him, or hearkening to Hezekiah's persuasions thereunto, as in the following verse.

12 Pero el comandante en jefe respondió:—¿Acaso mi señor me envió a decirles estas cosas solo a ti y a tu señor, y no a los que están sentados en el muro? ¡Si tanto ellos como ustedes tendrán que comerse su excremento y beberse su orina!

13 Dicho esto, el comandante en jefe se puso de pie y a voz en cuello gritó en hebreo:—¡Oigan las palabras del gran rey, el rey de Asiria!

14 Así dice el rey: “No se dejen engañar por Ezequías. ¡Él no puede librarlos!

15 No dejen que Ezequías los persuada a confiar en el SEÑOR, diciendo: ‘Sin duda el SEÑOR nos librará; ¡esta ciudad no caerá en manos del rey de Asiria!’”

16 »No le hagan caso a Ezequías. Así dice el rey de Asiria: “Hagan las paces conmigo, y ríndanse. De este modo cada uno podrá comer de su vid y de su higuera, y beber agua de su propio pozo,
