5 Además queda el territorio de los guiblitas y todo el Líbano oriental, desde Baal Gad, al pie del monte Hermón, hasta Lebó Jamat.^[a]

Joshua 13:5

And the land of the Giblites
This was another country that remained unconquered; the Greeks call it Byblus, and near to which Pliny ^F5 speaks of a place called Gabale, and is now called Gibyle; it is ^F6 said to be

``pleasantly situated by the seaside, and at present it contains but a little extent of ground, but yet more than enough for the small number of its inhabitants:''

it was in greater splendour, and its inhabitants of more fame, in the times of Ezekiel, ( Ezekiel 27:9 ) ;

and all Lebanon toward the sunrising;
or east of the land; all that inhabited that mountain remained unconquered, though the conquest was carried as far as the borders thereof:

from Baalgad, under Mount Hermon;
of which see ( Joshua 11:17 ) ;

unto the entering into Hamath:
which was the north border of the land; see ( Numbers 34:8 ) .

3 que se extiende desde el río Sijor, al este de Egipto, hasta la frontera de Ecrón al norte. A ese se le considera territorio cananeo, y en él se encuentran los cinco gobernantes filisteos: el de Gaza, el de Asdod, el de Ascalón, el de Gat y el de Ecrón. También queda sin conquistar el territorio de los aveos.

4 Por el lado sur queda todo el territorio cananeo, desde Araj, tierra de los sidonios, hasta Afec, que está en la frontera de los amorreos.

5 Además queda el territorio de los guiblitas y todo el Líbano oriental, desde Baal Gad, al pie del monte Hermón, hasta Lebó Jamat.

6 Yo mismo voy a echar de la presencia de los israelitas a todos los habitantes de Sidón y a cuantos viven en la región montañosa, desde el Líbano hasta Misrefot Mayin.»Tú, por tu parte, repartirás y les darás por herencia esta tierra a los israelitas, tal como te lo he ordenado.

7 Ya es tiempo de que repartas esta tierra entre las nueve tribus restantes y la otra media tribu de Manasés».
