2 Samuel 19:2

And the victory that day was [turned] into mourning unto all
the people
They also mourned too, instead of expressing joy upon the occasion:

for the people heard say that day how the king was grieved for his
son;
this report was spread among them, which damped their joy, and hindered them from giving any tokens of it, as were usual at such times.

1 Informaram a Joabe que o rei estava chorando e se lamentando por AbsalĂŁo.
2 Para todo o exército a vitória daquele dia se transformou em luto, porque as tropas ouviram dizer: “O rei está de luto por seu filho”.
3 Naquele dia o exército ficou em silêncio na cidade, como fazem os que fogem humilhados da batalha.
4 O rei, com o rosto coberto, gritava: “Ah, meu filho Absalão! Ah, Absalão, meu filho, meu filho!”
5 Então Joabe entrou no palácio e foi falar com o rei: “Hoje humilhaste todos os teus soldados, os quais salvaram a tua vida, bem como a de teus filhos e filhas, e de tuas mulheres e concubinas.
