Deuteronomy 29:3

The great temptations which thine eyes have seen
Or trials, the ten plagues which tried the Egyptians, whether they would let Israel go; and tried the Israelites, whether they would believe in the Lord, and trust in his almighty power to deliver them:

the signs and those great miracles:
as the said plagues were such as were beyond the power of nature to produce, and which only Omnipotence could really effect.

1 São estes os termos da aliança que o SENHOR ordenou que Moisés fizesse com os israelitas em Moabe, além da aliança que tinha feito com eles em Horebe.
2 MoisĂ©s convocou todos os israelitas e lhes disse:“Os seus olhos viram tudo o que o SENHOR fez no Egito ao faraĂł, a todos os seus oficiais e a toda a sua terra.
3 Com os seus prĂłprios olhos vocĂȘs viram aquelas grandes provas, aqueles sinais e grandes maravilhas.
4 Mas atĂ© hoje o SENHOR nĂŁo deu a vocĂȘs mente que entenda, olhos que vejam, e ouvidos que ouçam.
5 ‘Durante os quarenta anos em que os conduzi pelo deserto’, disse ele, ‘nem as suas roupas, nem as sandĂĄlias dos seus pĂ©s se gastaram.
