Exodus 21:34

The owner of the pit shall make it good
Repair the loss of the ox or ass:

and give the money unto the owner of them:
the price of them, what they are worth: the Targum of Jonathan is,

``the owner of the pit shall pay the silver, he shall return to its owner the price of the ox or ass:''

and the dead beast shall be his;
either the owner of the pit; who pays the full value for the ox or ass killed, which seems but reasonable; or

``the injured person as Jarchi, for he says, they reckon or estimate the carcass, and he takes it for the price;''

that is, for part of the price it is valued at.

32 Se o boi chifrar um escravo ou escrava, o dono do animal terá que pagar trezentos e sessenta gramas de prata ao dono do escravo, e o boi será apedrejado.
33 “Se alguém abrir ou deixar aberta uma cisterna, não tendo o cuidado de tampá-la, e um jumento ou um boi nela cair,
34 o dono da cisterna terá que pagar o prejuízo, indenizando o dono do animal, e ficará com o animal morto.
35 “Se o boi de alguém ferir o boi de outro e o matar, venderão o boi vivo e dividirão em partes iguais, tanto o valor do boi vivo como o animal morto.
36 Contudo, se o boi costumava chifrar e o dono não o manteve preso, este terá que pagar boi por boi, e ficará com o que morreu.
