4 E ali, diante de mim, estava a glória do Deus de Israel, como na visão que eu havia tido na planície.

Ezekiel 8:4

And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel [was] there
In the temple, between the cherubim, where the Shechinah or the glory of the divine Majesty dwelt; for as yet he had not removed, though provoked to it, and as he afterwards did; or he was here to destroy the idols, and both city and temple, for the idolatry of the people; or this is here mentioned, to show the baseness and wickedness of the people, that they should place an idol where the Lord himself was: according to the vision that I saw in the plain;
it was the same glorious Person he saw in the temple whom he had before seen in the plain, ( Ezekiel 3:22 Ezekiel 3:23 ) ; and that was the same he had seen in the vision by the river Chebar, ( Ezekiel 1:3 Ezekiel 1:28 ) .

2 Olhei e vi uma figura como a de um homem. Do que parecia ser a sua cintura para baixo, ele era como fogo, e dali para cima sua aparência era tão brilhante como metal reluzente.

3 Ele estendeu o que parecia um braço e pegou-me pelo cabelo. O Espírito levantou-me entre a terra e o céu e, em visões de Deus, ele me levou a Jerusalém, à entrada da porta norte do pátio interno, onde estava colocado o ídolo que provoca o ciúme de Deus.

4 E ali, diante de mim, estava a glória do Deus de Israel, como na visão que eu havia tido na planície.

5 Então ele me disse: “Filho do homem, olhe para o norte”. Olhei para o lado norte, e vi, junto à porta do altar, o ídolo que provoca o ciúme de Deus.

6 E ele me disse: “Filho do homem, você vê o que estão fazendo? As práticas repugnantes da nação de Israel, coisas que me levarão para longe do meu santuário? Mas você verá práticas ainda piores que estas”.
