Nahum 1:13

For now will I break his yoke from off thee
The Assyrian yoke from off the Jews, who had been obliged to pay tribute, or send presents to the king of Assyria, from the times of Ahaz; and were in bondage, while shut up and besieged by his army, and the country all around laid under contribution; from all which they were delivered when his army was in that dreadful manner destroyed: and will burst thy bonds in sunder;
and set thee entirely free from the bondage of the enemy, and all fear of it; a type of that freedom from the yoke of sin, Satan, and the law, which the people of God have by Jesus Christ.

11 Foi de você, ó Nínive,que saiu aquele que trama perversidades,que planeja o mal contra o SENHOR.

12 Assim diz o SENHOR:“Apesar de serem fortes e numerosos,serão ceifados e destruídos;mas você, Judá,embora eu a tenha afligido, não a afligirei mais.

13 Agora vou quebrar o jugo do seu pescoçoe arrancar as suas algemas”.

14 O SENHOR decreta o seguinte a seu respeito, ó rei de Nínive:“Você não terá descendentes que perpetuem o seu nome.Destruirei as imagens esculpidas e os ídolos de metaldo templo dos seus deuses.Prepararei o seu túmulo,porque você é desprezível”.

15 Vejam sobre os montesos pés do que anuncia boas notíciase proclama a paz!Celebre as suas festas, ó Judá,e cumpra os seus votos.Nunca mais o perverso a invadirá;ele será completamente destruído.
