Iyov 35:4

4 I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee.

Iyov 35:4 Meaning and Commentary

Job 35:4

I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee.
] Meaning not his three friends, as the Septuagint version expresses it; for they were not on the side of Job, and of the same sentiment with him, but rather on the side of Elihu; especially Eliphaz, who expresses much the same sentiment he does, ( Job 22:2 Job 22:3 ) ; but all that were of the same mind with Job, whether present or absent, or in whatsoever part of the world; the answer he should return to him would serve for them all, and sufficiently confute such a bad notion of God, let it be embraced by whomsoever.

Iyov 35:4 In-Context

2 Thinkest thou this to be mishpat (right, just), that thou saidst, Tzidki meEl (I am cleared, in the right, justified before G-d)?
3 Ki (yet) thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? and, What profit shall I have, more than if I had sinned [see 9:22]?
4 I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee.
5 Look unto Shomayim, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou.
6 If thou sinnest, what doest thou against Him? Or if thy peysha’im be multiplied, what doest thou unto Him?
