1 Chronicles 7

LEB 1 The sons of Issachar: Tola, Puah, Jashub, and Shimron, four. NIV 1 The sons of Issachar: Tola, Puah, Jashub and Shimron—four in all. LEB 2 The sons of Tola: Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Ibsam, and Shemuel, heads of their fathers' houses; for Tola, mighty warriors of their generations, their number in the days of David [were] twenty-two thousand six hundred. NIV 2 The sons of Tola: Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Ibsam and Samuel—heads of their families. During the reign of David, the descendants of Tola listed as fighting men in their genealogy numbered 22,600. LEB 3 The sons of Uzzi: Izrahiah. And the sons of Izrahiah: Michael, Obadiah, Joel, and Isshiah; all five of them [were] chiefs. NIV 3 The son of Uzzi: Izrahiah. The sons of Izrahiah: Michael, Obadiah, Joel and Ishiah. LEB 5 Now their kinsmen belonging to all the clans of Issachar [were] in all eighty-seven thousand mighty warriors, enrolled according to their genealogy. NIV 5 The relatives who were fighting men belonging to all the clans of Issachar, as listed in their genealogy, were 87,000 in all. LEB 6 [The sons of] Benjamin: Bela, Beker, and Jediael, three. Their genealogical record listed 22,034 fighting men. LEB 8 The sons of Beker: Zemirah, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jeremoth, Abijah, Anathoth, and Alemeth. All these [were] the sons of Beker. LEB 9 And their enrollment by genealogy according to their generations, [as] heads of the house of their fathers, mighty warriors, [was] twenty thousand two hundred. NIV 9 Their genealogical record listed the heads of families and 20,200 fighting men. LEB 10 The sons of Jediael: Bilhan. And the sons of Bilhan: Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Kenaanah, Zethan, Tarshish, and Ahishahar. NIV 10 The son of Jediael: Bilhan. The sons of Bilhan: Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Kenaanah, Zethan, Tarshish and Ahishahar. LEB 11 All these [were] the sons of Jediael according to the heads of the {families}, mighty warriors, seventeen thousand two hundred, {able to go to war}. NIV 11 All these sons of Jediael were heads of families. There were 17,200 fighting men ready to go out to war. LEB 12 And Shuppim and Huppim [were] the sons of Ir; Hushim, the son of Aher. LEB 14 The sons of Manasseh: Asriel, whom his Aramean concubine bore; she gave birth to Makir the father of Gilead. And the name of his sister [was] Maacah. And the name of the second, Zelophehad. And Zelophehad had daughters. NIV 15 Makir took a wife from among the Huppites and Shuppites. His sister’s name was Maakah. Another descendant was named Zelophehad, who had only daughters. LEB 16 And Maacah the wife of Machir gave birth to a son, and she called his name Peresh. And the name of his brother [was] Sheresh, and his sons [were] Ulam and Rekem. NIV 16 Makir’s wife Maakah gave birth to a son and named him Peresh. His brother was named Sheresh, and his sons were Ulam and Rakem. LEB 17 The sons of Ulam: Bedan. These [were] the sons of Gilead the son of Makir, son of Manasseh. NIV 17 The son of Ulam: Bedan. These were the sons of Gilead son of Makir, the son of Manasseh. LEB 18 And his sister, Hammolecheth, gave birth to Ishhod, Abiezer, and Mahlah. LEB 20 The sons of Ephraim: Shuthelah and Bered his son, Tahath his son, Eleadah his son, Tahath his son, NIV 20 The descendants of Ephraim: Shuthelah, Bered his son, Tahath his son, Eleadah his son, Tahath his son, LEB 21 Zabad his son, Shuthelah his son, and Ezer and Elead. And the men of Gath who were born in the land killed them because they came down to take their livestock. NIV 21 Zabad his son and Shuthelah his son. Ezer and Elead were killed by the native-born men of Gath, when they went down to seize their livestock. LEB 22 And Ephraim their father mourned many days, and his brothers came to comfort him. And he called his name Beriah because disaster [had been] upon his house. NIV 23 Then he made love to his wife again, and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. He named him Beriah, because there had been misfortune in his family. LEB 24 And his daughter [was] Sheerah, and she built Lower and Upper Beth-Horon and Uzzen-Sheerah. NIV 24 His daughter was Sheerah, who built Lower and Upper Beth Horon as well as Uzzen Sheerah. NIV 28 Their lands and settlements included Bethel and its surrounding villages, Naaran to the east, Gezer and its villages to the west, and Shechem and its villages all the way to Ayyah and its villages. LEB 29 And along the borders of the sons of Manasseh: Beth-Shean and its towns, Taanach and its towns, Megiddo and its towns, and Dor and its towns. In these lived the sons of Joseph the son of Israel. NIV 29 Along the borders of Manasseh were Beth Shan, Taanach, Megiddo and Dor, together with their villages. The descendants of Joseph son of Israel lived in these towns. LEB 30 The sons of Asher: Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, Beriah, and their sister Serah. And their number enrolled by genealogy, in the army for the war, [was] twenty-six thousand men. NIV 40 All these were descendants of Asher—heads of families, choice men, brave warriors and outstanding leaders. The number of men ready for battle, as listed in their genealogy, was 26,000.
