GW 1 These were Israel's sons: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, NIV 1 These were the sons of Israel: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, GW 2 Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher. GW 22 Segub was the father of Jair, who had 23 towns in Gilead. NIV 22 Segub was the father of Jair, who controlled twenty-three towns in Gilead. GW 23 Geshur and Aram captured Havvoth Jair with Kenath and its villages (60 cities in all). All of these people were descendants of Machir, the man who first settled Gilead. NIV 23 (But Geshur and Aram captured Havvoth Jair, as well as Kenath with its surrounding settlements—sixty towns.) All these were descendants of Makir the father of Gilead. GW 24 After Hezron died in Caleb Ephrathah, Hezron's wife Abijah gave birth to Ashhur, who first settled Tekoa.
