KJV 1 Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer. NIV 1 Answer me when I call to you, my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; have mercy on me and hear my prayer. KJV 2 O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah. NIV 2 How long will you people turn my glory into shame? How long will you love delusions and seek false gods KJV 3 But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him. NIV 3 Know that the LORD has set apart his faithful servant for himself; the LORD hears when I call to him. KJV 4 Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah. NIV 4 Tremble and do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent. KJV 5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD. NIV 5 Offer the sacrifices of the righteous and trust in the LORD. KJV 6 There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us. NIV 6 Many, LORD, are asking, “Who will bring us prosperity?” Let the light of your face shine on us. KJV 7 Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased. NIV 7 Fill my heart with joy when their grain and new wine abound. KJV 8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety. NIV 8 In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety.
