Psalm 114

HNV

MSG

1 When Yisra'el went forth out of Mitzrayim, The house of Ya`akov from a people of foreign language;
1 After Israel left Egypt, the clan of Jacob left those barbarians behind;
2 Yehudah became his sanctuary, Yisra'el his dominion.
2 Judah became holy land for him, Israel the place of holy rule.
3 The sea saw it, and fled. The Yarden was driven back.
3 Sea took one look and ran the other way; River Jordan turned around and ran off.
4 The mountains skipped like rams, The little hills like lambs.
4 The mountains turned playful and skipped like rams, the hills frolicked like spring lambs.
5 What was it, you sea, that you fled? You Yarden, that you turned back?
5 What's wrong with you, Sea, that you ran away? and you, River Jordan, that you turned and ran off?
6 You mountains, that you skipped like rams; You little hills, like lambs?
6 And mountains, why did you skip like rams? and you, hills, frolic like spring lambs?
7 Tremble, you eretz, at the presence of the Lord, At the presence of the God of Ya`akov,
7 Tremble, Earth! You're in the Lord's presence! in the presence of Jacob's God.
8 Who turned the rock into a pool of water, The flint into a spring of waters.
8 He turned the rock into a pool of cool water, turned flint into fresh spring water.
