Psalm 13

HNV

MSG

1 <<For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David.>> How long, LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?
1 Long enough, God - you've ignored me long enough. I've looked at the back of your head
2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart every day? How long shall my enemy triumph over me?
2 Long enough I've carried this ton of trouble, lived with a stomach full of pain. Long enough my arrogant enemies have looked down their noses at me.
3 Behold, and answer me, LORD, my God. Give light to my eyes, lest I sleep in death;
3 Take a good look at me, God, my God; I want to look life in the eye,
4 Lest my enemy say, "I have prevailed against him;" Lest my adversaries rejoice when I fall.
4 So no enemy can get the best of me or laugh when I fall on my face.
5 But I trust in your lovingkindness. My heart rejoices in your yeshu`ah.
5 I've thrown myself headlong into your arms - I'm celebrating your rescue.
6 I will sing to the LORD, Because he has been good to me.
6 I'm singing at the top of my lungs, I'm so full of answered prayers.
