Psalm 146

HNV

MSG

1 Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD, my soul.
1 Hallelujah! O my soul, praise God!
2 While I live, I will praise the LORD. I will sing praises to my God as long as I exist.
2 All my life long I'll praise God, singing songs to my God as long as I live.
3 Don't put your trust in princes, Each a son of man in whom there is no help.
3 Don't put your life in the hands of experts who know nothing of life, of salvation life.
4 His spirit departs, and he returns to the eretz. In that very day, his thoughts perish.
4 Mere humans don't have what it takes; when they die, their projects die with them.
5 Happy is he who has the God of Ya`akov for his help, Whose hope is in the LORD, his God:
5 Instead, get help from the God of Jacob, put your hope in God and know real blessing!
6 Who made heaven and eretz, The sea, and all that is in them; Who keeps truth forever;
6 God made sky and soil, sea and all the fish in it. He always does what he says -
7 Who executes justice for the oppressed; Who gives food to the hungry. The LORD frees the prisoners.
7 he defends the wronged, he feeds the hungry. God frees prisoners -
8 The LORD opens the eyes of the blind. The LORD raises up those who are bowed down. The LORD loves the righteous.
8 he gives sight to the blind, he lifts up the fallen.
9 The LORD preserves the sojourners. He upholds the fatherless and widow, But the way of the wicked he turns upside down.
9 protects strangers, takes the side of orphans and widows, but makes short work of the wicked.
10 The LORD will reign forever; Your God, O Tziyon, to all generations. Praise the LORD!
10 God's in charge - always. Zion's God is God for good! Hallelujah!
