1 Ó Senhor, ouve a minha oração, e chegue a ti o meu clamor.

Hear my prayer, O LORD ! And let my cry for help come to You.
2 Não escondas de mim o teu rosto no dia da minha angústia; inclina para mim os teus ouvidos; no dia em que eu clamar, ouve-me depressa.

Do not hide Your face from me in the day of my distress; Incline Your ear to me; In the day when I call answer me quickly.
3 Pois os meus dias se desvanecem como fumaça, e os meus ossos ardem como um tição.

For my days have been consumed in smoke, And my bones have been scorched like a hearth.
4 O meu coração está ferido e seco como a erva, pelo que até me esqueço de comer o meu pão.

My heart has been smitten like grass and has withered away, Indeed, I forget to eat my bread.
5 Por causa do meu doloroso gemer, os meus ossos se apegam � minha carne.

Because of the loudness of my groaning My bones cling to my flesh.
6 Sou semelhante ao pelicano no deserto; cheguei a ser como a coruja das ruínas.

I resemble a pelican of the wilderness; I have become like an owl of the waste places.
7 Vigio, e tornei-me como um passarinho solitário no telhado.

I lie awake, I have become like a lonely bird on a housetop.
8 Os meus inimigos me afrontam todo o dia; os que contra mim se enfurecem, me amaldiçoam.

My enemies have reproached me all day long; Those who deride me have used my name as a curse.
9 Pois tenho comido cinza como pão, e misturado com lágrimas a minha bebida,

For I have eaten ashes like bread And mingled my drink with weeping
10 por causa da tua indignação e da tua ira; pois tu me levantaste e me arrojaste de ti.

Because of Your indignation and Your wrath, For You have lifted me up and cast me away.
11 Os meus dias são como a sombra que declina, e eu, como a erva, me vou secando.

My days are like a lengthened shadow, And I wither away like grass.
12 Mas tu, Senhor, estás entronizado para sempre, e o teu nome será lembrado por todas as gerações.

But You, O LORD , abide forever, And Your name to all generations.
13 Tu te lenvantarás e terás piedade de Sião; pois é o tempo de te compadeceres dela, sim, o tempo determinado já chegou.

You will arise and have compassion on Zion; For it is time to be gracious to her, For the appointed time has come.
14 Porque os teus servos têm prazer nas pedras dela, e se compadecem do seu pó.

Surely Your servants find pleasure in her stones And feel pity for her dust.
15 As nações, pois, temerão o nome do Senhor, e todos os reis da terra a tua glória,
15
So the nations will fear the name of the LORD And all the kings of the earth Your glory.
16 quando o Senhor edificar a Sião, e na sua glória se manifestar,

For the LORD has built up Zion; He has appeared in His glory.
17 atendendo � oração do desamparado, e não desprezando a sua súplica.
17
He has regarded the prayer of the destitute And has not despised their prayer.
18 Escreva-se isto para a geração futura, para que um povo que está por vir louve ao Senhor.

This will be written for the generation to come, That a people yet to be created may praise the LORD .
19 Pois olhou do alto do seu santuário; dos céus olhou o Senhor para a terra,

For He looked down from His holy height; From heaven the LORD gazed upon the earth,
20 para ouvir o gemido dos presos, para libertar os sentenciados � morte;
20
To hear the groaning of the prisoner, To set free those who were doomed to death,
21 a fim de que seja anunciado em Sião o nome do Senhor, e o seu louvor em Jerusalém,
21
That men may tell of the name of the LORD in Zion And His praise in Jerusalem,
22 quando se congregarem os povos, e os reinos, para servirem ao Senhor.
22
When the peoples are gathered together, And the kingdoms, to serve the LORD .
23 Ele abateu a minha força no caminho; abreviou os meus dias.
23
He has weakened my strength in the way; He has shortened my days.
24 Eu clamo: Deus meu, não me leves no meio dos meus dias, tu, cujos anos alcançam todas as gerações.

I say, "O my God, do not take me away in the midst of my days, Your years are throughout all generations.
25 Desde a antigüidade fundaste a terra; e os céus são obra das tuas mãos.

"Of old You founded the earth, And the heavens are the work of Your hands.
26 Eles perecerão, mas tu permanecerás; todos eles, como um vestido, envelhecerão; como roupa os mundarás, e ficarão mudados.

"Even they will perish, but You endure; And all of them will wear out like a garment; Like clothing You will change them and they will be changed.
27 Mas tu és o mesmo, e os teus anos não acabarão.

"But You are the same, And Your years will not come to an end.
28 Os filhos dos teus servos habitarão seguros, e a sua descendência ficará firmada diante de ti.

"The children of Your servants will continue, And their descendants will be established before You."
