Isaías 27:8-13

8 Contendiste con ella desterrándola , expulsándola. Con su soplo violento la echó en el día del viento solano.

9 Así pues, con esto la iniquidad de Jacob será perdonada, y este será todo el fruto del perdón de su pecado; cuando haga todas las piedras del altar como piedras de cal pulverizadas; cuando no estén en pie las Aseras y los altares de incienso.

10 Porque solitaria está la ciudad fortificada, una morada desamparada y abandonada como un desierto; allí pastará el becerro, y allí se echará y se alimentará de sus ramas.

11 Cuando su ramaje está seco, es quebrado, vienen las mujeres y le prenden fuego. Porque no es pueblo de discernimiento, por tanto su Hacedor no le tendrá compasión, y su Creador no tendrá piedad de él.

12 Y sucederá en aquel día que el SEÑOR trillará desde la corriente del Eufrates hasta el torrente de Egipto, y vosotros seréis recogidos uno a uno, oh hijos de Israel.

13 Sucederá también en aquel día que se tocará una gran trompeta, y los que perecían en la tierra de Asiria y los desterrados en la tierra de Egipto, vendrán y adorarán al SEÑOR en el monte santo en Jerusalén.

INTRODUCTION TO ISAIAH 27

This chapter refers to the same times as the two foregoing ones Isa 25:1-26:21; and is a continuation of the same song, or rather a new one on the same occasion; it is prophetical of the last times, and of what shall be done in them, as the destruction of the antichristian powers, and Satan at the head of them, Isa 27:1 the happy state of the church, and its fruitfulness under the care and protection of the Lord, and his affection for it, Isa 27:2-4 its peace, prosperity, and flourishing condition, Isa 27:5,6 the nature, use, and end of all its afflictions and chastisements, Isa 27:7-9 the ruin and destruction of the city of Rome, and its inhabitants, and of its whole jurisdiction, Isa 27:10,11 a great gathering and conversion of the Lord's people, both Jews and Gentiles, by the ministry of the Gospel, Isa 27:12,13.
