Moreover, Josiah kept a passover unto the Lord in Jerusalem,
&c.] Where only it was to be kept:

and they killed the passover on the fourteenth day of the first month;
the month Nisan, as the Targum, which was the exact time of killing the passover lamb, according to the law of Moses, ( Exodus 12:6 ) , in the Vulgate Latin version of the Apocrypha in:

``And Josias held the feast of the passover in Jerusalem unto his Lord, and offered the passover the fourteenth day of the first month;'' (1 Esdras 1:1)

it is called the fourteenth moon of the first month; a phrase often used in ecclesiastical writers, when speaking of the time of the passover; and so we now call one of the days of the week "dies lunae", Monday.

1 Giosia celebrò la Pasqua in onore dell’Eterno a Gerusalemme; e l’agnello pasquale fu immolato il quattordicesimo giorno del mese.

2 Egli stabilì i sacerdoti nei loro uffici, e li incoraggiò a compiere il servizio nella casa dell’Eterno.

3 E disse ai Leviti che ammaestravano tutto Israele ed erano consacrati all’Eterno: "Collocate pure l’arca santa nella casa che Salomone, figliuolo di Davide, re d’Israele, ha edificata; voi non dovete più portarla sulle spalle; ora servite l’Eterno, il vostro Dio, e il suo popolo d’Israele;

4 e tenetevi pronti secondo le vostre case patriarcali, secondo le vostre classi, conformemente a quello che hanno disposto per iscritto Davide, re d’Israele e Salomone suo figliuolo;

5 e statevene nel santuario secondo i rami delle case patriarcali dei vostri fratelli, figliuoli del popolo, e secondo la classificazione della casa paterna dei Leviti.
