Revelation 10:5

And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the
earth
His right foot being on the one, and his left foot upon the other, as described in ( Revelation 10:2 ) ;

lifted up his hand to heaven;
the Oriental versions read, "his right hand"; and so some copies, and the Complutensian edition: the man clothed in linen, ( Daniel 12:6 Daniel 12:7 ) , who is the same with the angel here, held up both his hands; the lifting up of the hand was a gesture used in swearing: see ( Genesis 14:22 ) ; so the Jews say ^F15, "the right hand", or by the right hand, (hewby wz) , "this is an oath", according to ( Daniel 12:7 ) ; or whether the right hand or the left, is an oath, according to ( Isaiah 62:8 ) .

3 e gridò con gran voce, nel modo che rugge il leone; e quando ebbe gridato, i sette tuoni fecero udire le loro voci.

4 E quando i sette tuoni ebbero fatto udire le loro voci, io stavo per scrivere; ma udii una voce dal cielo che mi disse: Suggella le cose che i sette tuoni hanno proferite, e non le scrivere.

5 E l’angelo che io avea veduto stare in piè sul mare e sulla terra,

6 levò la man destra al cielo e giurò per Colui che vive nei secoli dei secoli, il quale ha creato il cielo e le cose che sono in esso e la terra e le cose che sono in essa e il mare e le cose che sono in esso, che non ci sarebbe più indugio;

7 ma che nei giorni della voce del settimo angelo, quand’egli sonerebbe, si compirebbe il mistero di Dio, secondo ch’Egli ha annunziato ai suoi servitori, i profeti.
