5 L’esercito di Faraone era uscito d’Egitto; e come i Caldei che assediavano Gerusalemme n’ebbero ricevuto la notizia, tolsero l’assedio a Gerusalemme.
6 Allora la parola dell’Eterno fu rivolta al profeta Geremia, in questi termini:
7 "Così parla l’Eterno, l’Iddio d’Israele: Dite così al re di Giuda che vi ha mandati da me per consultarmi: Ecco, l’esercito di Faraone ch’era uscito in vostro soccorso, è tornato nel suo paese, in Egitto;
8 e i Caldei torneranno, e combatteranno contro questa cittĂ , la prenderanno, e la daranno alle fiamme.
