Isaiah 1:20

But if ye refuse and rebel
The Targum is, "and do not receive my Word"; the Messiah, when come, neither his person, nor his doctrines and ordinances: ye shall be devoured with the sword;
of the Roman armies, as they were under Titus Vespasian; see ( Matthew 22:7 ) ( Luke 19:44 ) for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken [it];
now, by Isaiah, as well as in former times, ( Leviticus 26:25 Leviticus 26:33 ) .

18 Eppoi venite, e discutiamo assieme, dice l’Eterno; quand’anche i vostri peccati fossero come lo scarlatto, diventeranno bianchi come la neve quand’anche fossero rossi come la porpora, diventeranno come la lana.
19 Se siete disposti ad ubbidire, mangerete i prodotti migliori del paese;
20 ma se rifiutate e siete ribelli, sarete divorati dalla spada; poiché la bocca dell’Eterno ha parlato.
21 Come mai la città fedele è ella divenuta una prostituta? Era piena di rettitudine, la giustizia dimorava in lei, ed ora è ricetto d’assassini!
22 Il tuo argento s’è cangiato in scorie, il tuo vino è stato tagliato con acqua.
