7 E questo ti sarà, da parte dell’Eterno, il segno che l’Eterno adempirà la parola che ha pronunziata:

Isaiah 38:7

And this shall be a sign unto thee from the Lord
And which it seems Hezekiah asked, and it was put to him which he would choose, whether the shadow on the sundial should go forward or backward ten degrees, and he chose the latter, ( 2 Kings 20:8-11 ) , which was a token confirming and assuring that the Lord will do this thing that he hath spoken;
recover Hezekiah from his sickness, so that on the third day he should go up to the temple; have fifteen years added to his days; and the city of Jerusalem protected from the attempts of the Assyrian monarch.

5 "Va’ e di’ ad Ezechia: Così parla l’Eterno, l’Iddio di Davide, tuo padre: Io ho udita la tua preghiera, ho vedute le tue lacrime: ecco, io aggiungerò ai tuoi giorni quindici anni;
6 libererò te e questa città dalle mani del re d’Assiria, e proteggerò questa città.
7 E questo ti sarà, da parte dell’Eterno, il segno che l’Eterno adempirà la parola che ha pronunziata:
8 ecco, io farò retrocedere di dieci gradini l’ombra dei gradini che, per effetto del sole, s’è allungata sui gradini d’Achaz". E il sole retrocedette di dieci gradini sui gradini dov’era disceso.
9 Scritto di Ezechia, re di Giuda, in occasione della sua malattia e della sua guarigione del suo male.
