And there arose certain
Two false witnesses, as in ( Matthew 26:60 ) , who stood up in court; for witnesses were obliged to stand, whilst they gave in their testimony:

``says R. Bo, in the name of R. Hona, witnesses ought (dwmel) , "to stand", whilst they bear witness; as it is said, ( Deuteronomy 19:17 ) . "Both the men shall stand" F13''

And bare false witness against him, saying;
as follows.

56 Poiché molti deponevano il falso contro a lui; ma le testimonianze non erano concordi.
57 Ed alcuni, levatisi, testimoniarono falsamente contro a lui, dicendo:
58 Noi l’abbiamo udito che diceva: Io disfarò questo tempio fatto di man d’uomo, e in tre giorni ne riedificherò un altro, che non sarà fatto di mano d’uomo.
59 Ma neppur così la loro testimonianza era concorde.
