Matthew 16:4

A wicked and adulterous generation
He says the same things here, as he did to the Pharisees on a like occasion, in ( Matthew 12:39 ) (See Gill on Matthew 12:39).

And he left them;
as persons hardened, perverse, and incurable, and as unworthy to be conversed with:

and departed:
to the ship which brought him thither, and went in it to the other side of the sea of Galilee; see ( Mark 8:13 ) .

2 Ma egli, rispondendo, disse loro: Quando si fa sera, voi dite: Bel tempo, perché il cielo rosseggia!
3 e la mattina dite: Oggi tempesta, perché il cielo rosseggia cupo! L’aspetto del cielo lo sapete dunque discernere, e i segni de’ tempi non arrivate a discernerli?
4 Questa generazione malvagia e adultera chiede un segno, e segno non le sarà dato se non quello di Giona. E, lasciatili, se ne andò.
5 Or i discepoli, passati all’altra riva, s’erano dimenticati di prender de’ pani.
6 E Gesù disse loro: Vedete di guardarvi dal lievito de’ Farisei e de’ Sadducei.
