20 E desti loro il tuo buono spirito per istruirli, e non rifiutasti la tua manna alle loro bocche, e desti loro dell’acqua quand’erano assetati.

Nehemiah 9:20

Thou gavest also thy good spirit to instruct them
In the knowledge of the laws delivered to them; the spirit of prophecy, according to Ben Melech, and which Aben Ezra interprets of the spirit put upon the seventy elders, ( Numbers 11:17 Numbers 11:25 ) ,

and withheldest not thy manna from their mouth;
all the while they were in the wilderness, until they came to Canaan's land; called the Lord's manna, because prepared by him, and given by him to them; a part or portion and gift from the Lord, as Ben Melech, from whence it had its name, see ( Exodus 16:15 )

and gavest them water for their thirst;
which seems to have respect to the last rock stricken for them, after their many provocations in the wilderness, ( Numbers 20:11 ) .

18 Neppure quando si fecero un vitello di getto e dissero: Ecco il tuo Dio che t’ha tratto fuori dall’Egitto! e t’oltraggiarono gravemente,

19 tu nella tua immensa misericordia, non li abbandonasti nel deserto: la colonna di nuvola che stava su loro non cessò di guidarli durante il giorno per il loro cammino, e la colonna di fuoco non cessò di rischiarar loro la via per la quale doveano camminare.

20 E desti loro il tuo buono spirito per istruirli, e non rifiutasti la tua manna alle loro bocche, e desti loro dell’acqua quand’erano assetati.

21 Per quarant’anni li sostentasti nel deserto, e non mancò loro nulla; le loro vesti non si logorarono e i loro piedi non si gonfiarono.

22 E desti loro regni e popoli, e li spartisti fra loro per contrade; ed essi possedettero il paese di Sihon, cioè il paese del re di Heshbon, e il paese di Og re di Bashan.
