Job 41:11

11 Who has given to me, that I should repay him? Whatever is under the whole heaven is mine.

Job 41:11 Meaning and Commentary

Job 41:11

Who hath prevented me, that one should repay [him]?
&c.] First given me something that was not my own, and so laid me under an obligation to him to make a return. The apostle seems to have respect to this passage, ( Romans 11:35 ) ;

[whatsoever is] under the whole heaven is mine;
the fowls of the air, the cattle on a thousand hills, the fulness of the earth; gold, silver: precious stones All things are made by him, are his property and at his dispose; and therefore no man on earth can give him what he has not a prior right unto; see ( Psalms 24:1 ) ( 50:10-12 ) .

Job 41:11 In-Context

9 Behold, the hope of a man is disappointed; he is laid low even at the sight of him.
10 No one is so fierce that he dares to stir him up. Who then is he that can stand before me?
11 Who has given to me, that I should repay him? Whatever is under the whole heaven is mine.
12 "I will not keep silence concerning his limbs, or his mighty strength, or his goodly frame.
13 Who can strip off his outer garment? Who can penetrate his double coat of mail?
