13 Y puse por sobrestantes de ellos á Selemías sacerdote, y á Sadoc escriba, y de los Levitas, á Pedaías; y á mano de ellos Hanán hijo de Zaccur, hijo de Mathanías: pues que eran tenidos por fieles, y de ellos eran el repartir á sus hermanos.

Nehemiah 13:13

And I made treasurers over the treasuries
New ones, since the others appointed were either dead or unfaithful to their trust, ( Nehemiah 12:44 ) ,

Shelemiah the priest, and Zadok the scribe;
who also was a priest, as Ezra was both priest and scribe; one that besides his office as a priest was expert in the law, and capable of instructing others:

and of the Levites, Pedaiah, and next to them was Hanan the son of
Zaccur, the son of Mattaniah, for they were counted faithful;
had a good report of all that knew them, for men of fidelity and uprightness, and so fit for such a trust:

and their office was to distribute unto their brethren;
to deliver to them their share in the tithes, first fruits

11 Y reprendí á los magistrados, y dije: ¿Por qué está la casa de Dios abandonada? Y juntélos, y púselos en su lugar.

12 Y todo Judá trajo el diezmo del grano, del vino y del aceite, á los almacenes.

13 Y puse por sobrestantes de ellos á Selemías sacerdote, y á Sadoc escriba, y de los Levitas, á Pedaías; y á mano de ellos Hanán hijo de Zaccur, hijo de Mathanías: pues que eran tenidos por fieles, y de ellos eran el repartir á sus hermanos.

14 Acuérdate de mí, oh Dios, en orden á esto, y no raigas mis misericordias que hice en la casa de mi Dios, y en sus observancias.

15 En aquellos días ví en Judá algunos que pisaban en lagares el sábado, y que acarreaban haces, y cargaban asnos con vino, y también de uvas, de higos, y toda suerte de carga, y traían á Jerusalem en día de sábado; y protesté les acerca del día que vendían el mantenimiento.
